Thomson Plastics to Add 46 Jobs at $4 Million Howell Plant
Thomson Plastics Inc. expects to create 46 new jobs over the next two years at its new $4 million plant in Howell Township.
March 11, 2014 The plant, which opened in January, is equipped with seven molding presses to support automotive customers in the region.
“Thomson Plastics’ decision to operate in Howell was due to the easy access to local expressways, and central location for major regions of automotive manufacturing in Michigan,” Rick Kibbey, president and COO of the Georgia-based company, said in a press release. “In addition, the factory selected is in very good condition and has helped Thomson minimize launch costs.”
The $4 million investment is supported by a 50 percent property tax abatement from Howell Township. Ann Arbor Spark assisted the supplier in filing for the incentive.
Thomson Plastics is owned by Connecticut-based investment firm Altus Capital Partners I LP, which also owns Shelby Township-based Models & Tools Inc.
